Living Melody Collective is comprised of female-identifying Atlanta based artists including Haylee Anne, Angela Bortone, Jessica Caldas, Angela Davis Johnson, and Danielle Deadwyler. Formally established in 2017, their history of multidisciplinary collaboration dates back to 2015. They have performed together throughout Atlanta and one of their first major projects, the Living the Legacy II mural was shown at the Center for Civil and Human Rights. For the 2018 midterm elections, they painted the Hope for Georgia bus to drive up voter engagement. Their bold interventions have been written about in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Wussy Mag, Creative Loafing, ArtsATL, and heard on Atlanta’s NPR station WABE.

Particularly as a collective, Tempus Projects was a great place for us to really sort through what we were doing and what was important to us all as individuals and as artists working together towards something. Although we feel what we accomplished at Tempus only skims the surface, we never would have been able to get that work off the ground without dedicated time together within a shared space.” -Jessica Caldas

Tempus Projects was very supportive of our exhibition and also allowed us a lot of freedom to create what we wanted, as well as bring our children. The last part was really important to us as we would not have chosen to participate without the family-friendly atmosphere. Also, this was my first residency, and I made weird work that I wouldn’t have made at home. That Florida light was just so good, and February was an ideal time to visit Tampa. We took the opportunity to experience the neighborhood as best we could with our children by visiting many public parks.
