Tampa, FL – Tempus Projects presents a solo exhibition by Cristina Molina at Tempus Volta. In Ghost Orchid: Fever Dream, the elusive flora Dendrophylax lindenii is personified as an apparition, oracle, and provocateur that positions the viewer as an orchid hunter trespassing the swamp. Throughout the video, the Ghost Orchid delivers poignant and sage-like monologues about climate change, humanity’s dominion over the wetlands, and its impact on species’ survival.
Tampa, FL – KARST GROUNDS :: Quatro Sunistra is the fourth iteration of our annual open call exhibition that explores the sinister side of the Sunshine State, juried by Anastasia Samoylova. The exhibition title is a portmanteau of "sunshine" and the Latin word "sinistra"—the forebearer of the English word “sinister” which retains some of its original connotations of something that is harmful and inauspicious. The play on words reflects the often idyllic/nightmarish dichotomy Florida embodies in its natural, social, and political climates.

Tampa, FL – Tempus Projects presents a solo exhibition by Lucia Riffel in partnership with Dashboard at our temporary space at 4220 N. Florida Ave. Riffel’s work leads viewers to the place between their minds and their screens, between space and time, between thought and feeling, and into the everyday sublime. She creates spaces in-screen and in-real-life that mix the surreal, cinematic, and commonplace through 3D animation and installation. Looping slowly yet infinitely, these spaces allow one to look through the mirror of the screen and enter a meditative headspace beyond as well as within.
Tampa, FL – Tempus Projects presents Under the Highlands at our temporary space at 4220 N. Florida Ave. This photo-based exhibition by Artists-in-Residence Cristina Molina and Jonathan Traviesa concentrates on the geologic phenomena of the Lake Wales Ridge. Set in the very near future, the installation proposes a time when Florida is nearly under water except for the Highlands.
