MUSIC SCHOOL :: The Art of Songwriting featuring Matt Burke
KRESS COMMONSPACE
MARCH 2, 2023 @ 6:30-9:00PM
1624 E. 7TH AVE., YBOR CITY
At Tempus Projects we support art of all kinds! With our new Music School: The Art of Music series, we will highlight different aspects of the music field. Each event begins with the artist speaking about their process and approach, with time for audience discussion. Then, they will give a one-hour live performance. It’s an evening of both education and entertainment!
Matt Burke is the lead singer of the alternative rock/Americana band, Have Gun Will Travel. Burke's songwriting draws on Western themes of life and death, honor, and morality throughout the band's narrative songs. In an impressive display of songwriting skill, the band's fifth record, Science from an Easy Chair, was a concept album based entirely on British explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton and his 1914-16 Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition.
Event moderator Ray Roa is the Editor-In-Chief of Creative Loafing.
Event location :: 1624 E. 7th Ave., 2nd Floor, Ybor City, Tampa, FL
