Black Palace explores perceptions of death, being, and the afterlife through a visual narrative of abstract graphite paintings and drawings in a conceptualized, nontheistic next-world setting.

Justin Bryan Nelson was born on November 15, 1985 in Astoria, Oregon. He currently lives and works in Tampa, Florida. Using colored pencils to render delicate and highly detailed drawings, artist Justin Bryan Nelson conjures a response to his personal experiences of attempting to build relationships and seek intimacy through screen-based interactions that often obfuscate these efforts.
