FRONT AND CENTER :: Tempus Projects at HCC
09.06.2012
Hillsborough Community College, Dale Mabry Campus
CURTATED BY KATHERINE GIBSON
Curated by Katherine Gibson and on view at HCC Dale Mabry, FRONT AND CENTER presents recent works from a select group of artists who have contributed their time and energy to Tempus Projects, an artist-run, community focused incubator of ideas. These individuals have supported Director Tracy Midulla’s curatorial vision through collaborations, internships, and volunteer positions.
Featured artists include Ashley Niven, Stephanie Julianna Wadman, Justin Myers, Shannon Richie Lindsey, Amara Manickchand, Jessica Barber, and Jeffrey Agno Chin. All current or former HCC students, these artists have shown a zealous interest in furthering their own work and in contributing to their community. They have built relationships with other artists by volunteering their time and expanding their educational experiences beyond the classroom and into their own profession practices. These artists all have a connection to abstraction and ‘muting’ their developing content. As they continue their craft, their paths and singular directions are coming into focus and defining each artist as an individual.
